Thank you, Activity Professionals
January 24th, 2024
National Activity Professionals Day is observed on the 4th Friday of January and takes place on January 26 this year. It’s a special day to recognize and honor all the activity professionals who care and provide active experiences for the residents in nursing homes around the country. Did you know that the lifespan of Americans has increased in recent years, and due to this, there is a great need for patient-centered eldercare? This is where activity professionals come in. They inspire, engage, enrich, and make the lives of nursing home residents so much better and more interesting! It’s because of them that many long-term residents have good quality-of-life experiences.
Meet Cora Ray! She is our Activities Director. Her first job in this industry was as an STNA, her first career in this industry was in Cardiac Rehab. Cora loves her job and it shows. She says her favorite part of her job is working with the great residents and our wonderful team members. She loves to stress TEAMWORK and being part of this team. Her favorite hobbies are being outside, kayaking, fishing, camping, and picnicking. Her favorite travel destination is Key West.
Cora has 2 sons Jacob and Chase, and 4 Grandchildren, who are her life! Cora is passionate about her family. She loves OSU sports. An interesting fact about Cora is that she is not SHY!!!
Thank you for everything you do, Activity Professionals!
